Meet Octavius (formerly known as Izzy), a gorgeous Shepherd mix available for adoption at the Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal Shelter! Poor Octavius has had a rough go of life so far … after having a litter of pups her first owners decided to pawn her off on a coworker and that person only kept her a week before bringing her in to the shelter. After no word from the original owners on this beautiful girl’s history, she was chosen for the Vet Tech program and is now back at the shelter fully vetted and turnkey-ready for her forever home! She first came to the shelter lacking self-confidence and worried about her babies, but she’s starting to come out of her shell now … look at that sweet doggy smile! Octavius is great with kids, cats and other dogs, but she would greatly benefit from a forever family that can shower her with love and positive attention to boost her self-esteem a bit more … are you the forever home this sweet mama deserves? Anyone interested in Octavius, please check the link above for hours of operation and adoption requirements (meet and greets are a must!). Once your application has been approved, you get to take Octavius home that day! Any additional questions, please email Chris Browder at cbrowder@cityofshelbyvillein.com or call at (317) 392-5127.
