Fostering vs. Adoption
Not sure you’re ready to adopt, but still want to help? Fostering is a great way to give some love and TLC to animals who need it AND help your local shelter or rescue be able to assist other animals in need by freeing up some of their resources. Where Should I Look?
Petfinder and Pedigree are both fantastic places to look for animals in search of their forever homes, but not every shelter has their adoptable animals on the site. Make sure to check the websites of your city and/or county’s animal control for valuable information (hours of operation, phone number, address, etc.), ways to donate/volunteer AND check out the animals up for adoption. I’ve included links to the websites of every single shelter or rescue in the state of Indiana and hope to expand to the Louisville, Chicago and Cincinnati areas in the future!
