Meet Babe, a darling nine year-old Chihuahua available for adoption at the Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal Shelter! Babe’s husband and kids were brought to the shelter at the end of May, but the owner had desperately hoped he would be able to keep Babe. Unfortunately, his landlord sold the rental where he lived and he’s unable to keep Babe, so she was brought to the loving folks at the shelter in the hopes she could find a forever home for her golden years. Babe is good with children and other dogs (she’s never lived with cats) and she LOVES to snuggle under a blanket with her people! Her previous owner said that she’d only had her one litter of three puppies, but she no longer goes into heat (she’s too old for transport with Pets Alive Spay/Neuter Clinic). Babe is so small … do you think you can make room for this little sweetie in your forever family? Anyone interested in Babe, please check the link above for hours of operation and adoption requirements (meet and greets are a must!). Once your application has been approved, you get to take Babe home that day! Any additional questions, please email Chris Browder at cbrowder@cityofshelbyvillein.com or call at (317) 392-5127.
