Meet Buddy, a sweet and protective Chihuahua/Terrier mix available for adoption at the Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal Shelter! Buddy was surrendered by his owner because (if you can believe it) he was TOO protective of the children in the home! He was originally found running around a park in Indianapolis and his current family took him in and got him neutered. He bonded to the new owners quickly, especially the two little girls in the family, and became very protective of his new pack. However, when the two little girls were wrestling, Buddy felt he needed to come to the rescue of the smaller child and the family decided that he just wasn’t the best fit. He’s an extremely sweet boy and 18 pounds of pure devotion (he especially loves children), plus he’s small enough to enjoy the perks of being a lap dog. Buddy just seems to have a bit of a ‘tude and likes to be Boss Dog, so he’ll need a family who can keep him in line and let him know who the real boss is in the home! Are you in need of a little guy who’s big in heart and bigger in personality? Buddy’s adoption fee is $30, which covers his Home Again microchip and registration. Anyone interested in Buddy, please check the link above for hours of operation and adoption requirements (meet and greets are a must!). Once your application has been approved, you get to take Buddy home that day! Any additional questions, please email Chris Browder at cbrowder@cityofshelbyvillein.com or call at (317) 392-5127.
