Meet Murphy (formerly known as Ralphie), a two year-old Boxer/Pit Bull mix available for adoption at the Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal Shelter! Murphy had previously been dumped at the shelter back in November while it was closed, so there is no known information on this happy boy before that time. He was adopted by a loving family, but was unfortunately recently returned in order to keep peace with neighbors. Turns out Murphy enjoys playing with chickens and chasing livestock and the neighbors weren’t too happy. Murphy is also a bit of a digger, which is what allowed him to make friends with the cows next door, but his previous owners were working to break that bad habit. He has so many great qualities which make him deserving of a forever home, though, including being great with children and other animals and being housebroken. He doesn’t make the best kennel presentation because he barks, but it’s just because he’s saying, “Adopt me! Take me home! I’ll love you forever!” Do you want to come in and make Murphy part of your family? Anyone interested in Murphy, please check the link above for hours of operation and adoption requirements (meet and greets are a must, especially with other pets in the home!). Once your application has been approved, you get to take Murphy home that day! Any additional questions, please email Chris Browder at firstname.lastname@example.org or call at (317) 392-5127.
