Meet Jane! *UPDATE: ADOPTED!!!*

Meet Jane, a sweet one year-old Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler/Collie mix available for adoption at the Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal Shelter! Poor Jane has already been through so much in her young life, being brought to the shelter after receiving a supposed gun shot wound. The shelter got her to its partners at Vet Tech and, sure enough, an x-ray showed remnants of pellets where she had been previously shot along with her current gunshot wound. Her owner was tracked down and not only admitted it was his dog, but that he’d shot her after she started to chase one of his livestock. What is wrong with people?! What makes it worse is that this sweet girl was a gift to him from his grandchildren and he just didn’t want her … she’s so much better off after getting medical attention from Vet Tech and true human affection from everyone she meets. She’s good with children, but deserves to be a house pet and in a place without livestock. Are you ready to give Jane a loving, forever home where she can be spoiled like she deserves? Anyone interested in Jane, please check the link above for hours of operation and adoption requirements (meet and greets are a must, especially if there are any other pets in the home!). Once your application has been approved, you get to take Jane home that day!  Any additional questions, please email Chris Browder at cbrowder@cityofshelbyvillein.com or call at (317) 392-5127.

Jane is …
– a bit gun-shy (literally) after being shot by her previous owner, so she needs to be in a home where she can be spoiled and find a couch where she can cuddle.
– good with children, meet and greets with other house pets are a must!
– housebroken.
– spayed.
– microchipped.
– up-to-date on her vaccinations, wormed and heartworm negative.
– FREE to a loving, forever home!

*Please check out my post on fellow residents BearOnyx and Kiki who are also still looking for their forever homes. And I strongly encourage you to look at my feature on this shelter, it’s really an amazing place to find your next furry family member!*
