Meet Crazy Girl, a one year-old Hound/Pit Bull mix available for adoption at the Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal Shelter! This girl is more shy than crazy, but that’s what she was named when she was relinquished by her owner back in February after getting into a spat with a fellow dog (her mother, actually) over a chicken bone. She’s been mostly an outside dog and is not fully housebroken, but is an absolute sweetheart and has good leash skills for still being mostly a puppy! At 70 pounds she’s a big girl (and possibly still growing), but knows the command “sit” and she’s gentle and good with children. It also was discovered when brought to the shelter’s partners at Vet Tech that Crazy Girl had major entropion in both eyes. Entropion is where the eyelids fold inward and the eyelashes rub constantly on the cornea and it is very painful. Luckily, the vet was able to do corrective surgery on her eyes and she can now live pain-free and happy! Is your home the perfect fit for this beautiful Crazy Girl? Anyone interested in Crazy Girl, please check the link above for hours of operation and adoption requirements (meet and greets are a must, especially if there are any other pets in the home!). Once your application has been approved, you get to take Crazy Girl home that day! Any additional questions, please email Chris Browder at cbrowder@cityofshelbyvillein.com or call at (317) 392-5127.
