Meet Stella, a beautiful one and a half year-old Pit Bull/Boxer mix available for adoption at the Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal Shelter! Like a few of the other “strays” that found their way to the shelter, Stella was brought in under false pretenses by what turned out to be her owner. She’s a bit on the lean side (her previous owner claimed that the weight loss and pink hue to her back end occurred when she was switched from Puppy Chow to Beneful, but there’s no proof to back up that story), but with love and proper nutrition, this gorgeous girl is going to shine like a new penny! She’s considered special needs because she’s deaf, though it’s not obvious at first … she comes to greet visitors at the shelter with wagging tail just like the other dogs! She will need an experienced owner who’s worked with dogs that have hearing impairments, but she’s a wonderful girl who deserves to be spoiled in her forever home … are you Stella’s person? Stella’s adoption fee is $95, which covers her spay surgery, rabies/booster vaccinations, wormer, Home Again microchip and registration. Anyone interested in Stella, please check the link above for hours of operation and adoption requirements (meet and greets are a must!). Once your application has been approved, you get to take Stella home that day! Any additional questions, please email Chris Browder at cbrowder@cityofshelbyvillein.com or call at (317) 392-5127.
