Meet Klaus! *UPDATE: ADOPTED!!!*

Meet Klaus, a shy five year-old domestic shorthair cat available at the Johnson County Animal Shelter! Klaus is not a huge fan of shelter life and can’t wait to find an outdoor home as quickly as possible! Although he would do best as a barn cat, he will need a slow introduction to barn life and will need to be confined for several weeks until he properly adapts. Klaus has been practicing his hunting skills on toy mice and is quite the pro, all he needs now is the real thing! Klaus can also be friendly once he’s comfortable, but he will need a forever family that can be patient and understands that interaction and affection need to be on his terms. Do you have room in your barn and heart for Klaus to reach his potential of being an expert mouser? All adoptions are done with approved applicants by appointment only and once you fill out the adoption application, the shelter will contact you to set up an appointment and meet the pet. Klaus’s adoption fee is $50, which covers his vaccinations and neuter surgery.

Klaus is …
– best as a barn cat, though he will need time kept confined for several weeks to adapt to his new living situation.
– not properly socialized with humans, but would potentially enjoy a feline friend in the barn.
– litter-box trained.
– neutered.
– up-to-date on his vaccinations.
