Meet Oakley! *UPDATE: ADOPTED!!!*

Meet Oakley, a shy one year-old domestic shorthair cat available at the Johnson County Animal Shelter! Oakley came from a situation where she was never properly socialized with humans and would do best as a barn cat, though she’s new to the working cat world. Because she is timid with a tendency to be skittish, she would need to be confined in the barn for a few weeks until she’s comfortable and can call it “home.” She would also need to be confined at night once she’s well-adapted to barn life due to the fact that she doesn’t have the street smarts necessary to be free-roaming 24/7. Do you have the space in your barn and heart to give Oakley the forever home where she can have the freedom to be herself? All adoptions are done with approved applicants by appointment only and once you fill out the adoption application, the shelter will contact you to set up an appointment and meet the pet. Oakley’s adoption fee is $50, which covers her vaccinations and spay surgery.

Oakley is …
– best as a barn cat, though she will need time kept confined for several weeks to adapt to her new living situation.
– not properly socialized with humans, but would potentially enjoy a feline friend in the barn.
– litter-box trained.
– spayed.
– up-to-date on her vaccinations.
