Meet Fruit Loop! *SPECIAL NEEDS*

Meet Fruit Loop, a gentle 14 1/2 year-old domestic shorthair cat available at the Johnson County Animal Shelter! Fruit Loop was recently returned to the shelter because of some litter-box issues, but she uses her litter-box like a pro at the shelter! Fruit Loop is front declawed and the thought is that her paws get easily irritated by certain kinds of kitty litter, so any potential adopters should ask the shelter what type of litter they use for a smoother transition. Cats are not meant to be declawed and the process is incredibly painful, many times leading to irritation and further surgeries. Fruit Loop could very well need a corrective surgery for her declawed front paws, so her future forever family needs to be prepared for that possibility. Fruit Loop is a very sweet and friendly girl, though she also appreciates her alone time and would be best as the only pet in the home. She would also need to be in a home without small children, though older children that can respect her need for personal space would be fine. Is this St. Patrick’s Day a lucky day for sweet Fruit Loop? All adoptions are done with approved applicants by appointment only and once you fill out the adoption application, the shelter will contact you to set up an appointment and meet the pet. Fruit Loop’s adoption fee is $50, which covers her vaccinations and spay surgery.

Fruit Loop is …
