Meet Lily, an affectionate three year-old Pit Bull Terrier mix available for adoption at the Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal Shelter! Lily was originally brought into the shelter as an owner surrender in June 2018 when her owner moved back in with her parents and Miss Lily decided she didn’t care for the other dogs in the home. She was adopted the following month by a family and everyone thought this spirited girl had finally found her happily-ever-after. Fast forward to October 2019 and Lily was found running the streets as a stray and, when her microchip was scanned and her family was contacted, the shelter was told “Keep her!” Imagine everyone’s shock when it was revealed the only reason Lily’s family didn’t want her back was because she doesn’t stay glued to the woman’s side 24/7 – no behavioral issues, no aggression, no accidents, just independence. Lily is a sweet girl who’s good with children, already housebroken and spayed, sits and shakes for treats and adores kisses. Do you need this petite, spirited flower to brighten your home? Anyone interested in Lily, please check the link above for hours of operation and adoption requirements (meet and greets are a must!). Once your application has been approved, you get to take Lily home that day! Any additional questions, please email Chris Browder at cbrowder@cityofshelbyvillein.com or call at (317) 392-5127. (Also, due to Lily being a Pit Bull mix, it’s very important to either own your home or have written permission from your landlord!)
