Meet Larry and Mo, an adorable pair of Pit Bull brothers available for adoption at the Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal Shelter! These two are the cutest and most loving boys the shelter staff has ever met and they MUST be adopted together! But to know these boys, you have to know their whole story (save your anger until the end):
Their original owner reluctantly relinquished them in May of last year, doing what was best for these sweet boys. They were adopted together only one month later and were sent off to what the shelter staff hoped was a loving forever home. Fast forward to April of 2019 and two emaciated pit bulls found their way to the shelter, dazed, confused and sick. The staff was horrified and shocked to discover (only by scanning their microchips) that it was Larry and Mo and the shelter vet quickly went to work getting them hydrated and healed from what turned out to be FOUR MONTHS wandering the county. (The picture above was from last summer … it would be too painful to show what they looked like when they were found in April.) Once their former owner was contacted, it was discovered that she never called Home Again (the microchip company), never called the surrounding shelters, never called animal control and they were found less than 1/2 mile from their home. And (get this), SHE WANTS THEM BACK. Uh, not happening lady … these boys deserve SO much better! Despite their size (Larry is about 20 pounds bigger than Mo), they are gentle on leash and WONDERFUL with children! Larry is the alpha of the brothers while Mo is more chill and like to walk around with a rawhide hanging out of his mouth like a cigar … they’re adorable together! They even sleep with Larry laying on top of Mo, snuggled together, and MUST be adopted together. Are you the loving forever home and happily-ever-after that these boys truly deserve?
