Meet Charmander, a one year-old fire-bellied toad available for adoption through A Critter’s Chance Rescue! Fire-bellied toads are considered the corn snakes or leopard geckos of the frog world (great pets for first-time reptile/amphibian owners) and they’re both commonly and inexpensively found. These toads can live up to five years with proper care and one of the perks of owning a fire-belly toad is that, unlike other amphibians, they’re active during the day instead of at night. Although poisonous to other animals, they are not poisonous to humans unless ingested (so don’t plan on having Charmander for dinner!). However, there’s really no reason to touch a fire-bellied toad … you’d actually be harming him more than he would be harming you because the oils in your skin can cause him irritation. If you’re interested in giving Charmander his forever home, please contact Kelly Thomas with A Critter’s Chance, either by phone [(765) 430-5610] or email (samboni95@gmail.com). Charmander’s adoption fee is only $5 and I’ve included the link to the adoption application.
I’ve included a link on fire-bellied toads and their care … it has a lot of great information, especially if this will be your first reptile or amphibian!
