Meet Jax, an adorable four year-old Vietnamese pot-bellied pig available for adoption at Oinking Acres Farm Rescue & Sanctuary! Jax was surrendered to Montgomery County Animal Shelter last year when his owners could no longer care for him and has since become best friends with fellow adoptable, Baby Cakes. Jax is 100 pounds with an adorable short and stocky body and stylish brown hair (and how can you resist that face?). Jax is very friendly and loves everyone he meets, he just needs that loving forever home he deserves! Pot-bellied pigs are similar to dogs in the sense that they can be house-trained, leash-trained and can learn tricks, but they’re also very stubborn and sensitive. The average lifespan of a pot-bellied pig is anywhere from 12 to 20 years and if you put in the time and love with your little oinker, you’ll have the undying love and loyalty of your pig. Jax is neutered and microchipped and is more than ready to find his forever home. If you’re interested in a snorting good time and would like to adopt Jax, please fill out an adoption application online. His adoption fee is $150 ($250 if you want to adopt a pair), though if you’re out of state it costs an additional $100 and your pig must have a health certificate (Oinking Acres takes their pigs to Purdue Large Animal Hospital to have this done and receive the document).
