Meet Squirrel, a playful two year-old German Shepherd mix available at the Johnson County Animal Shelter! Squirrel can be shy when meeting new people, but once she warms up she will crawl in your lap or roll over for an extended belly rub (she might be 62 pounds, but she thinks that she’s a lap dog). Her favorite toy in the shelter is her rope, but she also loves to run off her energy outside and stretch those long legs! As of right now, it’s unknown how Squirrel would do with children or other animals, so a meet-and-greet with all members of your family would be important before bringing this ball of energy home. You would be nuts to pass up this amazing girl! All adoptions are done with approved applicants by appointment only and once you fill out the adoption application, the shelter will contact you to set up an appointment and meet the pet. Squirrel’s adoption fee is $150, which covers her vaccinations, spay surgery and microchip registration.
