Meet Carina, a charismatic nearly-two year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier available for adoption at the Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal Shelter! Carina was recently adopted, but was found abandoned and scared by the side of her road with her shelter goodie bag on a cold and rainy night … people can be so awful. Before that, Carina was previously surrendered by her owners due to the choice of keeping her or facing eviction … so now their neighborhood has one less Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Carina loves everyone she meets and adores snuggles on the couch and giving sloppy doggy kisses. Although she was mostly housebroken, the previous owners stated that she would have occasional accidents when left alone for long periods of time. Carina does NOT like cats and, though untested with other dogs, would probably do best as the only pet in the home so that she doesn’t have to share the love with anyone else! And don’t let Carina’s 64-pound size deter you … she has excellent leash manners and adores children. Carina’s $95 foster-to-adopt fee will cover her spaying, vaccinations and Home Again microchip and registration. Anyone interested in Carina, feel free to stop by any weekday between the hours of 10:30 AM and 4:30 PM and please check the link above for adoption requirements (due to her breed you MUST own your own home!). Once your application has been approved, you get to take Carina home that day! Any additional questions, please email Chris Browder at cbrowder@cityofshelbyvillein.com or call at (317) 392-5127.
