Meet Chester! *UPDATE: ADOPTED!!!*

Meet Chester, an adorable one year-old Great Dane/Hound mix available for adoption at the Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal Shelter! Chester was found dumped on March 22nd, malnourished and depressed, and the homeowner near where he was found said that he had been there approximately a week without anyone looking for him. Poor Chester was so sad and thin when he came to the shelter, but with the TLC from the staff he’s put on some much-needed pounds and has gained some much-needed confidence! He could still use some work on his leash skills with a patient owner, but shows great promise on being a well-behaved boy. Chester is believed to be fairly young, maybe around one or two years old, but shouldn’t grow much larger. This goofy boy is good with children and appears to be good with other dogs, but a meet-and-greet would be a must with other dogs in the home. Do you have room in your heart and home for this sweet boy? Chester’s $95 foster-to-adopt fee will cover his neutering, vaccinations and Home Again microchip and registration. Anyone interested in Chester, feel free to stop by any weekday between the hours of 10:30 AM and 4:30 PM and please check the link above for adoption requirements (meet-and-greets are strongly encouraged if you have children or other pets in the home). Once your application has been approved, you get to take Chester home that day!  Any additional questions, please email Chris Browder at cbrowder@cityofshelbyvillein.com or call at (317) 392-5127.
