Meet Buck, a lovable and goofy five year-old American Bulldog mix available for adoption at the Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal Shelter! Buck originally was brought in to the shelter as a stray back in May, thin and extremely wary of people. Once he gradually warmed to the shelter volunteers, his fun-loving personality came through and he became a staff favorite! After being picked up as a Vet Tech dog he came back turn-key ready, weighing a strapping 98 pounds, and was adopted. Unfortunately, Buck’s forever home ended up not being forever when his owner’s neighbors complained about his barking when she was not at home. Fortunately, Buck was brought back to his shelter family and he now has a chance at a loving forever family that can bring that doggy smile to his face (his crooked lower teeth are ADORABLE)! Buck is a smart boy that does well on a leash, loves to play and knows how to open doors (his former owner said he even knows how to open refrigerator doors … she came home one day and he’d eaten all the bacon!). Anyone interested in Buck, please check the link above for hours of operation and adoption requirements (meet and greets are a must, especially if there are other animals in the home!). Once your application has been approved, you get to take Buck home that day! Any additional questions, please email Chris Browder at cbrowder@cityofshelbyvillein.com or call at (317) 392-5127.
