Meet Deliverance!

Meet Deliverance (aka Deli), a handsome two year-old Pit Bull mix available for adoption at the Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal Shelter! The shelter first met Deliverance in August of 2019 when he was found abandoned with a muzzle stuck on his snout. Can you imagine how terrible that must have been, being left by someone you loved and trusted with a muzzle on your face so that you can’t even drink water (and in worst heat of summer, no less)? Deli was picked up by the Vet Tech program, made turn-key ready and was adopted by someone who completely adored him, even being brought back for visits to show how well Deli was doing in his forever home. Unfortunately, his owner had to move from the country to the city and Deli caused the death of a neighbor’s outdoor cat, so despite the fact that his owner desperately wanted to keep him, the landlord said “no” and this sad boy was brought back to the shelter. Needless to say, Deli needs to be in a home without cats and he can be choosy with his canine companions. Due to his size (and the strength of his tail wag!), Deli would also be better in a home with older children. Are you the forever home where this sweet boy can truly find deliverance from his past and be loved unconditionally? Anyone interested in Deliverance, please check the link above for hours of operation and adoption requirements (meet and greets are a must and due to his breed you MUST own your own home!). Once your application has been approved, you get to take Deliverance home that day!  Any additional questions, please email Chris Browder at cbrowder@cityofshelbyvillein.com or call at (317) 392-5127.

Deliverance is …
– a sweet boy who comes with some baggage and can’t wait to be loved unconditionally.
– in need of a home without cats (this is non-negotiable due to his past), choosy with doggie friends (meet-and-greets are a must) and best in a home without small children (his tail wag is intense!).
– housebroken.
– neutered.
– microchipped.
– up-to-date on his vaccinations, wormed and heartworm negative.
– FREE to his loving, forever home!
