Meet Maxine, an adorable Hound mix available for adoption at the Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal Shelter! Maxine was picked up as a stray after a call came in about an aggressive dog, but it turned out that she’s just a very curious girl and an avid sniffer, not aggressive at all! Maxine is a very good girl who, despite coming in as a stray, is extremely tidy in her kennel and the staff assumes she is housebroken. Maxine is okay around the other dogs at the shelter, but has the most soulful howl when she sees the shelter cat being walked on his leash outside! This beautiful girl can’t wait to find her forever home … are you the lucky recipient of her butt-wiggling devotion? Her adoption fee of $95 covers her spay surgery, rabies/booster vaccination, Home Again microchip and registration and flea preventative. Anyone interested in Maxine, please check the link above for hours of operation and adoption requirements (meet and greets are a must!). Once your application has been approved, you get to take Maxine home that day! Any additional questions, please email Chris Browder at cbrowder@cityofshelbyvillein.com or call at (317) 392-5127.
