Meet Rocky! *UPDATE: ADOPTED!!!*

Meet Rocky, a friendly eight year-old Yellow Labrador mix mix available for adoption at the Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal Shelter! Rocky was first adopted from the shelter six years ago, but was brought back in May of this year when COVID was running rampant and pets were being surrendered left and right. He was taken to Vet Tech to be made turnkey-ready and was adopted directly from their facility (go Rocky!), but his adopter recently revealed that Rocky was barking too much and the owner was receiving citations. However, instead of bringing him back to the shelter (as requested) he was taken to the Humane Society in Noblesville (that’s a no-no!) … the shelter ALWAYS wants their babies back if it doesn’t work out! Rocky adores children and loves every other dog he meets, so friendliness definitely isn’t an issue (but he definitely needs a high fence and plenty of space to run out his energy). Even at eight, this boy has the bark and stamina to run up the stairs … are you the forever family to join him? Anyone interested in Rocky, please check the link above for hours of operation and adoption requirements (meet and greets are a must!). Once your application has been approved, you get to take Rocky home that day!  Any additional questions, please email Chris Browder at cbrowder@cityofshelbyvillein.com or call at (317) 392-5127.

Rocky is …
– a big believer in barking at strangers, in need of a big yard (apartment life is just not for him) and knows how to sit, shake and roll over on command.
– good with other dogs and children.
– housebroken.
– neutered.
– microchipped.
– up-to-date on his vaccinations, wormed and heartworm negative.
– FREE to his loving, forever home!
