Meet Benji, a handsome four year-old chocolate brown tabby available for adoption at the Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal Shelter! Poor Benji has been through the wringer in the past month and is going to need a loving and patient family to help him come out of his shell. His owner decided he was unable to care for him and his BFF, Lola, so the cats were left alone in an apartment for an entire WEEK while extended family tried to make arrangements for them. At that point, a distant relative was willing to keep the two in an enclosed porch, but the kitties were stressed and were finally brought to the shelter. Lola adapted well to shelter life and charmed everyone she met, so she was quickly adopted. Benji is much more reserved, but he just needs a loving forever family that can be patient enough to let him blossom … are you the forever home that Benji so deserves?
