Meet Scaredy, a feisty five month-old female tuxedo Maine Coon mix available for adoption at the Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal Shelter! Scaredy was brought in with Cheetah at the end of April, but with no names or any other information as far as ages or health history, the shelter had to start from scratch with these ladies. She used to constantly hide behind her litter box, but now she just uses a cardboard box if she really feels the need for alone time and is slowly starting to open up a little more. Scaredy still isn’t the biggest fan of being picked up, but if you hold your hand up to her kennel she rubs her face all over you and then lays down to have you rub her belly! This pretty girl also LOVES to be brushed … and with such luxurious fur, that’s a good thing! Scaredy’s adoption fee is $30, which covers her spay surgery, rabies/booster vaccinations and wormer. Anyone interested in Scaredy, please check the link above for hours of operation and adoption requirements (meet and greets are a must, especially if there are other pets in the home!). Once your application has been approved, you get to take Scaredy home that day! Any additional questions, please email Chris Browder at firstname.lastname@example.org or call at (317) 392-5127.
Scaredy is …
– still a bit cautious, but hiding less and learning to trust more.
– a big fan of moist food and prefers it over dry food.
– good with children.
– litter-box trained.
