Meet Snuggles! *UPDATE: ADOPTED!!!*

Meet Snuggles, a beautiful seven month-old female chinchilla available for adoption through NWI Chinchilla Rescue! Snuggles has earned her name by the way she absolutely adores human interaction and being held and given scratches behind her ear while being cuddled. She would be a fantastic first chinchilla for someone looking to add a new family member that’s never owned one before, she just loves the attention! Snuggles will come with some food to start you out (two pounds of Tradition pellets), a goodie bag of chews/treats, and a printed out version of the care packet. Chinchillas need weekly dust baths, so you will definitely need to make sure you have special chinchilla dust on hand to keep her fur and skin healthy. Regardless of past chinchilla experience, all potential homes will be asked to read their chinchilla care packet and fill out the adoption application/chinchilla questionnaire. No chinchilla will go to a new home without an adoption application being filled out – NO EXCEPTIONS. Snuggles’s adoption fee is $200 and you must come to her for the adoption, she cannot be shipped (NWI Chinchillas is in Hammond, Indiana).

Snuggles is …
– exactly what her name says … she loves attention from her people!
– currently living alone, but could potentially bond with another chinchilla.

I’ve included a link on chinchilla care and FAQs from the rescue’s website. Chinchillas can live approximately 10 years, so taking on a chinchilla is a long-term commitment! Also, make sure you do plenty of research before adopting your first chinchilla … there’s a lot to learn!
