Meet Bert, a sweet one year-old pot-bellied pig available for adoption through A Critter’s Chance Rescue! Bert was brought into Indianapolis Animal Control after being attacked by a dog and unfortunately had to have his left ear amputated, but he can hear just fine and acts like a perfectly normal pig. Bert is an extremely sweet and loving pig, waiting patiently by you for however long it takes for you to get the point and pet him! At 70 pounds, Bert is close to full-grown (and smaller than a lot of dogs!). This adorable boy is also best friends with a fellow adoptable pig, Kibbles, so it would be great if these two BFFs (Best Farm Friends) could be adopted together! Pot-bellied pigs are similar to dogs in the sense that they can be house-trained (although Bert and Kibbles prefer to be outdoor pigs), leash-trained and can learn tricks, but they’re also very stubborn and sensitive. The average lifespan of a pot-bellied pig is anywhere from 12 to 20 years and if you put in the time and love with your little oinker, you’ll have the undying love and loyalty of your pig. If you’re interested in giving Bert (and hopefully Kibbles!) their forever home, please contact Kelly Thomas with A Critter’s Chance Rescue in Plainfield, either by phone [(765) 430-5610] or email (samboni95@gmail.com). The pig adoption fee is $150 and I’ve included the link to the pig-specific adoption application.
