Meet Jeff the Giant! *UPDATE: ADOPTED!!!*

Meet Jeff the Giant, a 15-pound male New Zealand bunny! Jeff can be a bit standoffish until you earn his trust, but once he warms up you’ll see his sweet and playful personality shine through. Although Jeff likes affection on his own terms, when he wants some loving he’ll stand up for head scratches and will run to greet you when you come home (and to beg for food)! Jeff definitely prefers to be a free-roaming house bunny (he gets frustrated and aggressive if caged), but he’s excellent about using his litter box. Jeff enjoys cardboard destruction, playing with his ball and campaigning to be the new Cadbury bunny. If you’re interested in giving this big guy his forever home, please contact Kelly Thomas with A Critter’s Chance rescue in Plainfield, either by phone [(765) 430-5610] or email (samboni95@gmail.com). Jeff’s adoption fee is $40.

Jeff the Giant is …
– around five years old.
– best in a home where he can roam freely.
– playful and loves to beg for food.
– litter-box trained.
– neutered.
– better suited in a home with older children or adults. Rabbits are very fragile, so it’s very important that they’re in a home with people who can pick them up without fear of dropping them!

I’ve included links with more information about New Zealands and a list of things to consider before adopting a rabbit. Bunnies can live to be over 10 years old (similar to dogs and cats), so they are still a long-term commitment pet. Also keep in mind that rabbits have fragile hearts, so the noise level of their environment need to be kept in consideration!
