Meet Himalaya! *UPDATE: ADOPTED!!!*

Meet Himalaya, a shy two year–old Siberian Husky mix available at the Johnson County Animal Shelter! Himalaya is a small girl at only 30 pounds, but she has a big heart with a lot of love to give to the right forever family. Himalaya has been very timid since arriving at the shelter and she is still a bit anxious and jumpy with toys and meeting new people, though her confidence is getting better each day! Although she can be a bit jumpy, Himalaya enjoys it when the staff initiates playtime and is curious enough that she will come up to meet you, when given the space and patience to warm up. Himalaya is untested with children and other animals, but with her nervous nature it would be best if her forever home did not have small children and a meet-and-greet with any other animals in the home is a must! Don’t leave Himalaya out in the cold … the warmth of a patient forever family is just what she needs! All adoptions are done with approved applicants by appointment only and once you fill out the adoption application, the shelter will contact you to set up an appointment and meet the pet. Himalaya’s adoption fee is $150, which covers her vaccinations, spay surgery and microchip registration.

Himalaya is …
– a shy girl that will take a patient forever home that can help boost her confidence, though she is curious enough to come up and meet you with time and space and enjoys her people initiating playtime!
– untested with children and other animals, but due to her jumpy nature would be best in a home with older children.
– housebroken.
– spayed.
– up-to-date on her vaccinations.
