Meet Jett, a playful two year-old black Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd mix available at IndyCLAW Rescue! Poor Jett was found in November of 2022 dragging a chain that was attached to his neck and taken to an Indianapolis shelter, but never claimed. From the little information known about his past, it is assumed that he has been an outdoor dog his whole life and would need a forever family that can be patient and take the time to teach him the amazing world of being a spoiled house dog! It is unknown if he was ever housebroken and the rescue is working on his leash manners (he’s had “field trips” to restaurants, parks and Home Depot!), but he’s a mix of two extremely smart breeds and has the capability of learning new skills and tricks quickly. He already knows the commands “sit” and “shake” and loves to please his people, but Jett adores exploring, playing in water and chasing squirrels and can jump a four-foot fence, so a six-foot fence will be required in his new home. Jett also loves children, enjoys playing with another large dog at the rescue and would do well with a doggie sibling, but he is NOT a fan of felines and needs a home without cats. Anyone interested in adopting Jett can fill out IndyCLAW’s dog/cat adoption form and email it to adopt@indyclaw.org … visits are by appointment only! Jett’s adoption fee is $200.
Jett is …
– a playful and friendly boy who enjoys exploring, splashing in water and chasing squirrels and will require a six-foot fence in his forever home.
– working on house and leash manners and will need a patient forever family willing to work with him.
– good with children and other dogs, but best in a home without cats.
– neutered.
– microchipped.
– up-to-date on his vaccinations.
*Note: IndyCLAW requires a “sleepover contract” for anyone interested in adopting Jett where he would stay with his potential adoptive family for two weeks in order to make sure it’s the best mutual fit before the adoption is finalized. I have personally adopted both a rabbit and a dog from this rescue and they were both wonderful experiences!
